Coastal Cruising (BCC 103)
For sailors with intermediate skills and experience (a
perfect refresher for the ex-sailor)
Prerequisite: BKB 101
Now that you're serious about the fun of sailing, you
will learn to handle a Catalina 34 with wheel
steering and diesel engine. Since you already understand
sailing, this program refines skills and makes you a more
proficient sailor. The course graduate is able to coordinate
advanced sail trim principles with wind conditions and
build confidence in boat handling in a variety of wind
situations. This 2 day class is exciting, demanding, and a lot
of FUN!
You will sail with your qualified ISS instructor and
a maximum of three other students sharing all sailing
tasks and receiving personalized attention. You'll review
basic maneuvers and build an increased sailing sense and
awareness through exciting drills and challenges.
The following are just a few of the many skills you will
learn from this course:
- The art of sailing upwind, techniques of reaching
and running
- Recover a person (or object) overboard
- Practice principles of dead reckoning and use the
compass to find your position
- ASA certificate for completion of Basic Coastal Cruising
(BCC 103).

Vacation Program!

Instructors, we offer several choices of Basic Coastal
Cruising (BCC 103) (Weekend/ Weekdays).
Basic Coastal Cruising and Bareboat Chartering can be
combined as a Liveaboard Course.
